	1. Prologue

**The Unknown Ones**

**Prologue**

_An electric shock ran up my arm. Then another. I tried to open my eyes, but I found that I couldn't. A buzzing sound filled my ears, irritating and loud. I tried to yell, but my throat was dry. What was going on? I tried to remember what had happened earlier, but all that I could come up with was that I was running from something or someone and then everything blacked out. I had lost something, and I was sad and confused, but more than ever, terrified. Nothing made sense. _

_I tried moving again and found that I could slowly move my fingers, each one cracking with every movement. Some feeling came back to my body, and when it did, something in my head told me I was freezing and wet. I shivered and I could feel a heat burning inside of me. I finally lifted my hand, then my arm, slowly because it hurt. I could feel the blood rushing back to my body, life coming back to me. I felt my face, and the word _**ice**_, popped into my head. I tried taking it off, then screamed in pain as it pulled on the skin of my face. I gasped trying to think of what to do next. All I knew is I had to get up. So I did my best. I kicked my feet, but they were frozen too. I tried again and again, but finally I dropped my hands, tired and defeated. Then I slowly drifted off, sleep taking the best of me._

	2. Chapter 1

**Chapter 1**

The sight took my breath away, almost making me turn back, but when he put his hands through mine I knew I couldn't back down now. Not again. I was going to do it. I smiled up at him, hoping it looked confident and pretty. He smiled back, making my heart throb dangerously.

"Ready Heidi?" He asks me? I nod my head yes, even though my head is yelling NO! He tightened his grip on my hand and my head spins from his touch and the height as he counts down.

"THREE, TWO, ONE, ZERO!" I jump, closing my eyes saying goodbye to the world. But before we splat onto the ground miles below like squashed bugs, our bungees sprang us back up, bouncing along as it did. I laughed out loud, loving this dangerous feeling.
